ABOUT THE
ARCHITECTURAL CONSERVANCY
OUR MISSION
The Mission of the Guelph & Wellington
Branch of the ACO is to promote and participate in the preservation of
buildings, structures, neighbourhoods, cultural landscapes and natural
areas that have architectural or cultural significance in the City of
Guelph or the County of Wellington.
BACKGROUND
The Architectural Conservancy of Ontario (ACO)
was founded in 1933 by Professor Eric Arthur and citizens across
Ontario. The ACO is a registered charity, incorporated in 1933, to
preserve buildings and structures of architectural merit and places of
beauty or interest.
LOCAL ACTIVITIES
The G&W Branch holds regular monthly meetings with an educational
purpose - topics of interest will be generated from the membership and
speakers and experts will share their knowledge.
Meetings are normally held on the third Wednesday of each month between
September and May (excluding December).
